Inside many Commonwealth countries such as Australia, New Zealand and Canada, public lands are known as Crown lands. Recent proposals to sell Crown lands use been extremely controversial.

United States
In a United States governmental breathe including cities, counties, states, & the federal government everthing have land which are then known as either public lands or even public domain.

A majority of public lands in the United States come owned per federal government & managed per either Bureau of Land Management under the Secretary of Interior or the U.S. Forest Service under the U.S. Department of Agriculture. National Parks and Monuments are also public lands managed per National Park Service, which is also a portion of the Interior Department.
